Maker: Craig Harrison
Tools of the trade: Bollhoff machine, channel saw, CNC router and a tape measure
Likes: Grass roots football, boxing, family time and Haribo sweets
Dislikes: Rainy Monday mornings
Having joined Smith over 14 years ago, Craig has established himself as a senior member of the fabrication team, primarily specialising in CE Marked Traffic Signage. Meticulous in his work and with a keen eye for detail, his attributes are well suited to the role, particularly when riveting channel extrusion to sign plates, and routering aluminium with a great degree of precision – not surprisingly, as he always has a tape measure to hand.
Employed as a Warehouse Operative in his early days, it wasn’t long before his talents were noticed and a departmental transfer inevitable. Longevity within his role, willingness to help and a friendly personality has seen him become a recent mentor for Sam Kipling, the Company’s first apprentice in over 40 years. A Fabricator and teacher means no two days are ever the same.
“We pride ourselves on being industry experts, with an abundance of knowledge, and it is good to see we’re able to help bring through the next generation of signmakers, ensuring that they are going to be just as knowledgeable, if not more”.
